monday watercolors...

using watercolors to draw what they are learning. Today was "sharks" .... at this age, though it may not "look" anything like the subject...it's still awesome to see what they come up with.

Oh yeah, I joined in the fun a little too....I am wishing for spring...can't you tell?
:)

Also, I am 12 weeks today! Yippeeeee!
hopefully it is goodbye to morning sickness soon for me... second trimester, you're
looking pretty rad right now :)

To have, to give and to love....

....see how happy weekend adventures make us?!?
We have already cleaned a little, shopped a little and planned dinner...
Now for more fun...
Earlier in the week ..or maybe it was last week...
we asked Luca to gather up some things he wanted to give some boys and girls who may like to have
a toy or clothes who may not be able to afford them...
teaching them ( our kiddos) where we came from with so little is important..
we all need to remember or realize that tough times are inevitable, but we should all
be willing to help in any way we can.... because we have been so helped in the past.
He may not understand it all, but Luca knows that there are boys and girls that will be happy with
some of the things he has enjoyed... he gladly and willingly ( and picked out himself mostly) gave up a bag full of toys he no longer really plays with.
I love his giving heart, it is so natural and it is such a gift.
So today is the day we give those things away...
and maybe a quick and random adventure along the way...
just the way us two like it...
I love these kids...
and even though I lose my mind now and again...
they make me so much better
and teach me so many things.

Besos to my boys... ♥

What are your weekend plans? I am seriously curious!! I love a good idea!

In the summer....we name our plants...

"e-yo" the basil and "deer" the parsley....

"e-yo" has just welcomed us with a little of its green presence....! Luca is so excited...!

...fresh produce....

...sidewalk pictures for days....

....wet, shirtless little boys in trunks and the water hose skills of a top-rate prankster....

what do these all have in common?

summer's here!

Oh, how it has been welcomed :)

Around here, we look like wandering gypsies with no shoes (most of the time or flip flops), tans (minus my pale baby who actually may just be getting a little brown after all!!), lots of fruits and juice, no regard for time (if at all possible)...yep, ahhhhh.... just how we like it :)

Today we spent the mid-morning discovering a new park, meeting new friends and chatting away...until are faces were red, our hair was sweaty and the sun was just too strong for comfort. Oh yes, there was playing as well :) ...and not a picture was taken.... shame on me...
but
sometimes there is too much fun in the air to warrant a picture... sometimes memories are way better.

The House of the Funny Face

we like to play....
...being silly is something we could do 24-7
we aren't very graceful at it either....
we aren't ashamed....
...when at our house....
...be aware...of the funny face...

Here are some extreme examples:

dinosaur chicken nuggets...tend to have these specific side effects.... cause still uncertain....

this is my.... I- enjoy-my-oxygen-and-you-are-stealing-it- from-me....funny face..
somewhere...smushed to the side of my face...his funny face is saying " take that" or a famous pepe le pew saying...not quite sure which...

oh, not a funny face you say?

...then, there is no denying this one....see what I mean....
some things cannot be argued with....

Beware: It may be contagious

Love on every door...

Lovely Monday to all I hope! We had a crazy case of the Monday's here, but as the day progressed it got a lot better! Me and the kiddos took a little time to visit with my sweet, sweet cousin A. and her adorable (I mean for real yall) little twin daughters! When I was pregnant with Canaan, A. was pregnant with her twins...as a matter of fact, we had the same due date! But since she was carrying twins she obviously delivered first....anyway, since we will be moving soon I wanted to squeeze one more visit in with some of our favies and I am so glad she was able to visit with us!

On another note, I think boxes are on the extinct list....because either no one has them or it is apparently illegal to climb in a dumpster.... go figure....lol. I mean, it is not like dumpsters are slimy, germ and bacteria infested, smelly glass ridden metal containers...come on ...... lol. I will survive.... this is my theme song at the moment. Hah. Anyway back to boxes....I just don't feel like I should have to pay for a slice of cardboard that just so happens to fold up into a nice little cube that holds things....its like water...it should be free....( oh yeah, water should be free, just ask me).

Ok off of my rant for now....

These pictures were taken just before the Mr. left to the "new city" ...the first time. Luca wanted his papa to cut out hearts for him and write all our names in each heart....then he went around to each of our bedroom doors (yes, me and the Mr. share a room....just in case that didnt come out clearly lol) and stuck each person's heart on their door. THE cutest thing ever! So here they are....2 or is it 3 weeks later?.....and I just dont have the "heart" (get it...? heart? ok, Im done...) to take them down....would it be creepy if I left it for the new people? Yeah, probably. I thought it would be nice to take a few pictures to remember my sweet boy's gesture, and share it with you all....to me it was like he was saying, " no matter whether you are physically 'here', your heart is wherever you leave it." but that's just me....maybe he got it off an episode of Wonder Pets or something....lol.... Now that would be funny.

no ordinary boot....

...around here, the men wear their boots when they eat.
They wear them to do pretty much everything, save showering, but there are some solid reason.

1. your always prepared for a horrible flood or monsoon
2. your feet don't get wet...though smell they still may...
3. they make your legs look taller (though they may not admit that one)
4. you feel more authoritative with boots on...like you run the show and commence barking orders whether indoors or out....
5. ...and I know I'm stretching it here...but they are a great excuse for some of them to play in mud puddles and completely cover themselves in muck minus the eyeballs (I don't know who would do that ahem...)

those are just a few off the top of my head

I'm sure you all could come up with a lot more reasons...

they don't sleep with their boots though....

momma's gotta have some rules....
we aren't cave people after all.
