Drop in the Ocean....

...isn't that exactly like motherhood?!
So many times I feel as though what I do as a mother is so
insignificant ... unimportant
just a drop in the ocean....

but I much more easily forget the second part
...the part that reminds me that this little drop called
motherhood is as vast as it is small...
a small portion of these little one's lives....
that help mold something much greater...
a future
a character
an ambition
creativity
a heart of love
a dreamer
leaders
hard workers
soldiers
strength
faith
hopeful spirits
artists
educators
respect
citizens
believers
...

Children.

Maybe Mother Theresa wasn't specifically talking about mothers when she said this...but I absolutely think it applies....
and applies well.

Yesterday was Mother's Day of course...and it was so awesome to hear my little ones saying "Happy Mother's Day" to me, but for a while I sat and thought about it all...am I the mother that my children can rise up and call blessed? Am I nurturing my "drop in the ocean" as best as I can? I want to...so very badly.
So I found that yesterday was not only a happy occasion for me, but also a humbling one...that helped remind me just how much being a mother is a gift.

I have, admittedly, let myself buy into the stigma that staying at home with my children isn't that important...that it is insignificant.
But it isn't.

...and I don't care how many jobs I have in the future...in my lifetime.
The one I have now has and will always be the most important.
I am so thankful for yesterday.
I am so thankful and blessed with this little family of mine.
Thankful for reminders and encouragement.
I am thankful to know so many of you....mothers and soon to be mothers too.
We are a strange and wonderful group.
What a crazy ride it is.
I intend to enjoy it.

I hope all of you ladies had wonderful days yesterday! You all are so very special!
My boys brought me breakfast in bed....painted me a very special art piece that I love so much...
and even treated me to lunch...
how did I get so lucky?
I love these guys so very, very much!
Hope you are all had a fantastic Monday!!!

There is no greater calling than that of a mother. What a lovely post! You are so blessed that you are able to stay at home with your children, I was blessed in that way too. But, both my daughter and DIL are teachers and have been fortunate to have ladies keep their children in their home.

Keep enjoying those boys, I promise you that you won't turn around twice and they will be grown and you will wonder where the time went.

Blessings for a great week!
