Thrift{ed} : Have A Seat

It's a little late, but I wanted to pop in with a little addition of Thrift{ed} for your viewing pleasure :)
I haven't obviously done one of these posts in a little bit, so I wanted to catch up on things. In the last couple of weeks I haven't been thrifting at all...which is understandable...if you don't know what has been going on you can catch up here. Anyway, just before things started to get a lot crazy around here, I did manage to
swing by this new place...a thrift shop I had never been in before, but passed by quite frequently. Aren't those the greatest?! Boy am I ever glad that I did too!

* Disclaimer*
I am a huge, huge fan of mid-century pieces (furniture) ...and I have been looking for a mid-century chair for oh, probably a good 2-3 years....but there was always this little problem...the price tag. Feel me? ha ha yes, well apparently many of us like this particular style causing the prices to stay on the steep side....granted there are shops lie UO that do new versions of the old stuff...but I kind of wanted authentic....so yes, I have been long on the hunt for one of these chairs...

insert trip to new thrift shop where I found this lovely lady....or gent....staring at me:

Holy Moly .... I died and went to mid-century heaven....! I almost walked right passed it too...because I didn't want to be crushed when I flipped that tell-tale price tag around...but I stopped anyway and wouldn't you know it....
It cost.....

dum, dum, dum........

$10 !

Oh no, that is not a typo.... $10!!!!
And did I mention it is nearly perfect?!
With a hint of worn goodness?!?
And I had a pillow to match it already (haha)?!

I also, may or may not have been the person pushing her husband inside to buy it before somebody else got smart and realized what the chair is really worth....yes I did that.
I have no idea how this happened. Really I don't.
Save that sometimes the golden rule is :
Patience
Yep, I know we just luvvvvvv that word right!?
Sometimes there's just no way around it though....
especially if you are working on a budget.
ps....I think I saved at least $300...maybe more...
by just waiting....and waiting.....anndddddd waiiiiitttttinnnnggggggg.....
haha.

My kids are never going to sit in this chair.
Ever.
I lie.
They already have.
But in my mind....
This chair is childproof.

What has your latest thrifting score been?

wowza! this is an AH-MAZING find!
I just bought a $10 picnic table for the kids to sit at, and was quite happy. but now that seems a bit over-priced compared to your find. ;)
