Confession:
I am not a plaid girl...generally speaking.
yet...I am strangely being seen wearing it?
Member that little convo we had the other day about taking fashion risks and such...
uhuh...well, I couldn't just preach all that and expect myself not to do it too...
Right?!?!
It also helps when said plaid only cost me $2 at the thrift store...
oh yes, why break the bank over something you are really don't like are unsure about...?
Exactly, no good reason at all...
boots though...I'm all about some boots...even the grunge, hipster kind...
even the "I'm getting to old for these kind"...
am I getting to old for these?
Nah.
I don't know exactly why I don't like plaid very much...other than I don't feel "myself" completely...
like I tried to dress up for the rodeo...
or spirit week at my high school!
Did you guys have that in high school?
A different theme ever day for a week...?
You don't even know.
This plaid caught my eye though...because it was lavender...
and not blue or red...
which is like plaid's version of black or white...
I didn't know plaid came in lavender!?!?
It must be a hybrid.
It also helps that I could pair it with my fave skinny jeans...
Have you ladies tried them yet?!?!
Refer here for some motivation if you haven't yet...
(because you cant look as ridiculous as I did then lol)
Details:
Plaid tunic: thrifted
Vest: Target
Skinnies: F21
Boots: gift (payless)
Earrings: gift from the SIL!!
Leather Cuff: Holly Aiken
SO. I did it ladies...I stepped out of the box...
The Elena is too ethnic for plaid box...
the hippie is square today...
but, it's not so bad...
actually, (since it's lavender and all)
I could kinda get used to it...
but don't hold me to it...
baby steps...baby steps...
What fashion cliff have you dived off of lately?!?
...and by that I mean what fashion adventures
you've taken...not what clothing has massacred you...(wink)
Happy Weekend-ing everyone!

I love plaid, but then again I was a 90's grunge girl pining after Eddie Vedder. That never left me. You look beautiful and I love all the color variations that have emerged with the new plaid trend!!
i'm not a plaid fan either. on me. i don't think i own 1 plaid thing. it looks good on you, and hey, for $2, can't go too wrong.
wait, i lied. i have a plaid tunic. but it's big plaid print and it's violet and gray tones. so it didn't remind me of a table cloth. which is usually what makes me thing when i see plaid. that and lumber jacks. lol
That is why I love thrifting! It allows you to have fun with clothing without breaking the bank! I think you totally rock this plaid top!
I love the boots! Oh, and can I please have your hair??!!
I laughed so hard at "I didn't know plaid came in lavender! It must be a hybrid!"
I agree though, if it's red or blue it just feels so western, and unfashionable.
