I just need 5 minutes and mom's coffee...

Well, in true stressful-day style, I am winding down my night with a big cup of coffee (dark as it gets), a little band of skulls radio via Pandora and well, you guys!

Though I'm sure you all could think of many obvious reasons why my day would be stressful, I think today could be chalked up to not enough sleep, an infant and a very active 2 year old. Did anything go wrong...not in the sense of wrong that is out of the ordinary...just the usual-spilled milk (literally, like all over my living room rug), thrown nuggets at the wall (which we addressed and better not happen again haha), feeding times every two hours and me just really wanting a time out for mommy today. On top of it all, my husband has incessantly been preparing for his Halo Reach All-Night Release Party...Since Halo Reach is being released tonight at midnight he, and three friends are on there way to town to stand in line at the game store for two hours to receive their personal copies of the game....then Party Part Deux begins. This is where they return to MY house to play said game all night and into the morning while eating grilled hot wings and other assorted snacks. I doubt there will be much sleep for me tonight or the babes but hopefully we'll see a few uninterrupted hours of sleep...and anyway there trek to the waiting line has left the house empty(besides the babes) and very quiet...so thank you "men-children" for allowing me this opportunity of bliss even though you are ever so unaware of it...ahhhh I can actually hear the clock tick...fab.u.lous.

As I was saying....about this stressful day....

Soooo...how did I fix it (being stressed I mean)? Yes, ladies and gentlemen....I went to mom's house. There I confessed...I feel so much better now. The Mr. had a couple pre-party projects he wanted to take care of around the house and he needed some supplies that my parents had, so off we went to mom's. There is nothing like going back home (were you grew up) that will take the stress away. The air seems 10 times cleaner and the atmosphere that much calmer. I love it. As soon as we walked through the door, mom scooped the babes up and whisked them out of my site (mini-hooray). I needed it. I then went and hid in their gi-normous bathroom hahaha...until Luca found me that is. They played for a bit..I had another cup of coffee haha, and I got to traverse there great treasure trove of stuff...and by stuff I mean lots of nick-nackery, and stuff left over from all sorts of things...here are a couple things I love about going to my mom's house....

 my mom, of course...!

 she's such a wonderful abuela :)

listening to the Mr. play on my old guitar...

the crape myrtle tree that held our tree house growing up....
I love the blooms so much!

trinkets and treasures from times past....

 the autumn garden..

ps-my dad told me this plant was once used to make thread for
sewing back in the day! How awesome and resourceful is that!

My dad's old antique telephone...he's working on  a
collection...

Family History! Love it....my dad washed in this basin
as a small child at his grandparents home! There's nothing
like having tangible artifacts to go along with the childhood
stories from our pasts...its almost (heed the almost) better than
photographs....maybe:)

My coffee is all gone...and I'm off to enjoy the rest of my little "vacation" before the boys come back with their game and the chaos ensues. Enjoy your night everyone, hopefully it will be just as quiet...or loud as you desire!

Ciao~

I know exactly how you feel. I never get enough sleep. You're lucky to have your mom so close by.

Thanks so much for your sweet comments ! I am a very gifted girl to have my mom so near...when I only had my oldest son we lived farther away and only saw them about once a month or so which was hard because there wasn't the support and friendship there that I feel we have now!I think I have gotten a little spoiled..but I love it ♡
